We will be raising money for the Kiwanis Eliminate Project, a project focus on eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year.

So to show support and celebrate the holiday season in style come out to City Tap!

This past Saturday, UC Kiwanis volunteers enthusiastically participated in this year’s Kiwanis One Day by meeting early Saturday morning to make 170 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches from scratch. We then loaded up our heavy boxes of sandwiches along with a few toiletry packs we’d made up and joined We Feed the Homeless Philly in Love Park. We helped distribute sandwiches, fresh fruit, and beverages to hungry Philadelphians. Luckily for everyone the weather cooperated.

The dedicated organizers of We Feed the Homeless Philly organize and provide a healthy free meal every Saturday to Philadelphia’s Homeless citizens. They strive to serve these meals with dignity and respect for the individuals receiving them. UC Kiwanis intends to work with We Feed the Homeless Philly again in the future so if you would like to get involved with this project please let us know!

University City Kiwanis is a dynamic group of young professionals in the Philadelphia area dedicated to strengthening their community through leadership, friendship and service. Our Club chartered in September 2000 has a diverse membership that work toward revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth programs, assisting those in need, and supporting other activities that will improve the lives of our neighbors.
